BIO "Creativity abounds." Never has such a short statement been so fitting as in the case of Charlie Hickman. Immersed in music since birth, Charlie first picked up the bass in high school. From that moment on, he has never stopped. Charlie’s high school years were spent playing in bands, appearing at Southern California clubs, churches and Christian events, and winning various music awards. He went on to study bass, vocal performance and composition at Cal State Long Beach, where the formal and classical elements of the curriculum helped him to become a well-rounded musician. Charlie’s thirst to create has fueled him to write hundreds of songs, learn multiple new instruments and get involved in scoring for films. He has also worked as a studio musician in Los Angeles, laying down bass lines for hip hop and rap artists, and has acted as an engineer for other musicians by recording and mixing their work in his personal studio. Above all this, Charlie loves to use his talents to worship God and to bless others with his music. As a solo artist, Charlie makes his debut with Charlie Hickman: The Next Chapter in the spring of 2005. Music alone couldn’t satisfy his artistic ambitions. As a co-founder for Another Fork and Spoon Productions, he has overseen the production of short films, two half-hour television specials and has written several feature-length scripts.
